Private Talking Spaces

enable people to conduct audio and video calls in open environments

In the Harvard Law School Library, we regularly observed our students and staff migrating to the stairwells and other border areas to make phone and video calls.

These locations were not ideal. They compromised focus and privacy, and created distractions for others.

To boost privacy and build areas of focus, the Library Innovation Lab partnered with Work-Shop Design Studio to create occupiable furniture that encourage focused phone conversations in libraries and open work environments. We placed the plans under an open license, and encourage you to build one for your library.
